FRIENDS, FRIENDS, FRIENDS

I havent been on here in a while and felt it was time to let my friends hear from me....Life has been going good no big complaints here...iknityouknot came to visit from Chicago and I had the chance to go out to dinner with her,jennygrrrrr, and Susan from the Windsor Button Shop...We ended up going to Fajita & Ritas' it was so much fun...We talked and drank, ate and drank, talked and drank...ok well we no me, Hannah, and Jenny was enjoying the drinks the most what do you expect the frozen raspberry margaritas there are amazing....Susan had at least one which in itself made it a great night...

The best part of the night was the fact that I got the idea for my next project...I had on a shirt that was the color of the margaritas and Jenny loved it so much...That I suggested to name my next project Jenny's favorite then Hannah says no Jenny's Crush so that is what I will do....Not sure exactly what it will be but I will have her in mind...

Now the only question was her favorite really the shirt or the margaritas.....

Growing up

My oldest daughter Alexis graduated for the 5th grade on the 20th..As a parent/mother I am happy and scared because she is no longer a little girl even though she will be my little girl no matter how old she gets.

I have to start talking more about things a woman goes through and will experience in life just like my mom taught me.

She is a wonderful daughter and couldn't be anyone other than who she is.. Growing up is hard to do for parents and children but when you have an understanding of each other it makes it a smooth experience..

Frogging

So I started Lexi's shrug about 3 weeks ago and realized I messed up about 12 rows into the pattern due to the fact that is writted with slightly conplez instructions..So I came to the conclusion that I had no other option but to pull it out and start again..

So I picked it up yesterday to start again low and behold I cast on the 54 stitches and then realized I was using the wrong size needle.. :(

So I start againg with the correcet size and go to start the ribbing then once again I realize I did the basic cast on not the cable cast on...

But hopefully this will be the end of frogging on this project..

MEME

I have been tagged and am happy to let people know about me...So here it goes

1. 10 years ago I was 21 years old and was still a new mom to my oldest daughter Alexis...I didnt know much about being a mom but figured out fast how to be the best mom I can be...

2. 5 Things on my to do list....Go back to school, take a shower, wash my girls hair, clean the house( even though I already did it), cuddle with Alonzo

3. Where have I lived...This is a joke right...I have lived on the same street in the same house for 31 years...LOL..but of course I hope to be somewhere else soon

4. If I was a billionare...I would pay off all my debt( who wouldn't) and my moms, buy a wonderful house with a nice porch and rocking chair so I can sit and knit, get the car I have been wanting for so long, pay for my girls to go to college..

5. Who I want to know more about..Jenny, even though I know things i want to know more about Love's Lessons

Vacation

It is over now...I go back to work after a week off that was well needed...I had a wonderful time with the cookout/celebration it was stressful in the beginning but it ended up great...It was wonderful to see all the friends and family I haven't seen in such a long time...I need to try and keep in contact with the family I do have since so many of them live so close...But we will see if I actually go through with it since I always say I am going to call someone and never do... :(

But on a brighter note Alonzo and Me got to spend some much needed time together...We went out shopping and he helped me pick out some clothes for the summer which were nice choices...He is some what of a FASHIONISTA!!!! Which I find funny but also good..When it comes to me I try to dress in style but working at the Windsor Button Shop I have to be comfortable and I of course don't want to wear anything to nice...So I guess made a great husband choice...

So for all that now me at the Windsor Button Shop I will see you there..

Big Plans

I am so happy the weather is getting better especially for this weekend....Me and Alonzo my new husband are having a big cookout to celebrate the union we made in April...and were hoping that it wouldnt rain because if it did it would have turned into a house party...

So here I am almost a year into a sweater project I started last summer and told myself I wouldn't start another knitting project till it was completed but hey I have a addiction and cant stay away from new things...It is almost done just 5 more inches of I Cord and alittle more weaving and VOILA!!!! It will be done in time to wear this fall instead of last fall....

The response he has given me about my knitting has been great he tells me that he wants me to teach him one day we will have to see how that goes...If it does really happen I will give details...He has even given me some opinions on what my next project would be who would have thought he would care if a baby wears a button down sweater instead of a pullover??? But hey that is why I love him....

On My Mind

I am having the greatest time working on iknityouknot's chicago shawl...I have commited myself to doing 5 motifs a night so I can have it done before it reaches the 1 year mark of me starting it....There are so many other projects that I want to start but need to finish at least one of the 6 I have in progress...

My new book that I got "When bad things happen to good knitters" has been a blessing I bought it on a whim because of course I thought I was a good knitter...But when I read that I realize I am learning to be a good knitter...

Last night I really felt like a married couple...I was knitting/crocheting away while he was watching the basketball game and every now and then to make it seem like I was interested I would look up and say WOW!!!....So lucky me another game is on tonight I guess it will be Happy Knitting till next time...

So here I am finally...I see so many people on Ravelry have a blog so I figured why not me maybe someone would like to read what is on my mind...So I will be back more often when things are on my mind...
